“I’d like to express my deep appreciation to you, Beth, for making your garden workshop so memorable. You have a special gift for creating a safe learning environment, with a well of positive things to say without passing judgment. It was a joy to be there with you and the others. Your garden is magical, and you created a magical day for me. Ann C.”
Dang. Our timing is bad.. but for those of you who want a longer retreat- or any of our other retreats coming up in 2011:
ReplyDeleteI'd like to introduce you to a new venture spawned from my literary journal and writing contest, SCRATCH ( a project to help new writers and poets find a voice in the big bad world of publishing. The venture is called Write by the Water.
We think this is the perfect combination for both new and published authors.
We will be hosting the fall retreat in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. It runs from Friday, October 15 through Tuesday, October 19. Georgia writer, Jack Riggs, will be in attendance for one-on-one discussions, and daily roundtable discussions with writers in attendance about various topics related to the professional life of a writer, etc. Gwen, our web and marketing professional can help answer those kinds of questions, and as an editor, group leader, and networking pro, not to mention whip bearing motivator, I will be on hand all 5 days.
We have a NY Literary agent who has agreed to do a Skype conference with the attendees and there is, of course, free writing time every day, as well as a public reading/ book sale and signing at Sun Dog books in Seaside, FL on Oct. 17.
Bed and breakfast, plus one dinner is included in the retreat costs. There is a $25 application fee due on registration, to hold your place. Space is limited as we are hosting an intimate, dedicated group of writers.
There are a few last minute slots open for Florida in October, and if you sign before October 1, save $100 off.
$500 wkend is only $400
$750 5 day is only $650
