love is ...

... a boy and his mother in a selfie at the market. If this were on iPhoto, I'd rub out that line between my eyebrows, maybe soften those deep, deep brackets beside my nose. But I can't, so there it is. The unvarnished truth.

  1. I love it. Do you think anyone notices the lines when there is a huge open mouth of a huge human being up front? It's a lovely shot, Beth!

  3. Yes, it's true, Chris, the huge human being does draw the eye - as he does wherever he goes, six foot eight, covered with tattoos, and often laughing. And yes, Theresa, the market is wonderful. Especially when Wayson comes along so we have a drive home with the heavy bags.

    1. When my son and his partner lived in Toronto, we used to go there for provisions. A good walk from their place (near you!) and then a grand feast at the end of it. I remember cheeses, wonderful fish, salad greens worthy of Rapunzel's mum...

    2. Just had to check the Rapunzel story for salad greens ... now I understand. Yes, there's beautiful stuff at the market, amazing cheese, and on Saturday, at the one day market for local farmers. But we have farmer's markets all over the city now, all week.

  4. PS And anyone reading this, please go to "Pickle Me This," to the left, where Kerry Clare has posted Theresa's stunning essay about summer. The most gorgeous piece of writing. I see beauty and love.
