a new old year

Just got this Rosh Hashanah greeting from Cousin Peter in the States. Peter is a photographer famous for climbing all over the Statue of Liberty to photograph her, with an especially well-known close-up of her one visible giant toe.

According to the Jewish calendar, the year is 5775.
According to the Chinese calendar, the year is 4710.
This means that the Jews went without Chinese food for 1,064 years.

This period was known as the Dark Ages.
